Bona Mugabe and husband survive eviction from Mazowe farm

Bona Mugabe-Mutsahuni, the late former President Robert Mugabe’s daughter, and her husband Simbarashe Mutsahuni have survived eviction from a Mazowe farm after the High Court ruled in their favor.

In June, the couple was barred from occupying a portion of the 168-hectare Extent of Sigaro Farm in Mazowe after High Court judge Justice Munamato Mutevedzi granted a default judgment in favor of National Tested Seed.

Bona and Simba then filed a court challenge, requesting a stay of execution on the judgment.

Justice Rodgers Manyangadze of the High Court ruled in their favor. According to Justice Manyangadze:

Whereupon after reading documents filed of record and hearing counsel, the application for stay of execution be and is hereby granted.

Execution of the default judgment granted in case HC 3720/22 be and is hereby stayed pending determination of the application for rescission of judgement filed in case no HC 4100/22. Costs shall be the cause.
