We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidate to fill the position of Commercial Officer which has arisen in our Procurement Department

Duties And Responsibilities


  • Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the incumbent will assist the Procurement Manager in undertaking the following responsibilities
  • Liaising with User Departments to analyse and determine a comprehensive contract management system and procedures
  • Managing tendering processes including preparation of adjudication document for the Procurement tender committee
  • Collaborating with, legal and User Departments to ensure contracts compliance with Procurement policy, guidelines and applicable statutory requirements
  • Reviewing contracts, verifying accuracy and resolving discrepancies in line with the Procurement Policy and guidelines .
  • Ensuring relevant documentation accompany contracts and maintain, digital and hard copies of relevant documentation.
  • Liaising between parties regarding contract development, and negotiations regarding terms and conditions, and drafting and revising changes as required.
  • Identifying potential risks contract changes may pose to the organisation.


  • Implementing and managing of local Enterprise development programmes.
  • Procurement and management of insurance and critical spares and consumables as defined by the Procurement policy
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies, standards and procedures-

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, procurement. accounting or economics
  • At least 3 years of previous working experience as a Commercial officer or Senior Procurement Officer.
  • Proficient knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to relevant contracts.
  • SAP/ERP experience preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent reading and comprehension skills.
  • Proficient ability to detect errors and inconsistencies.
  • Post graduate degree in Procurement qualification will be an added advantage.
