Job Summary

To perform all assigned tasks related to the SGCP Zimbabwe – Engineering training program and gain practical professional experience by working on projects

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintains, develops and delivers the appropriate safety, quality and environmental improvement culture to sustain and enhance first-class performance levels, Zero TF1 & TF2 rates
  • Conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes
  • Establish safety procedures for those working with dangerous chemicals
  • Design and plan the layout of equipment
  • Conduct tests and monitor the performance of processes throughout production
  • Troubleshoot problems with manufacturing processes
  • Evaluate equipment and processes to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Estimate production costs for management
  • Implements WCM principles in the execution of the production strategy

Qualifications And Experience

  • First or Upper Second Class Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • ISO Systems development/Audit certification –added advantage
  • Lean Six sigma certification – added advantage
  • Age 25 Years, or below
  • Previous production and process experience -added advantage

  • Conduct research to develop new and improved preventive maintenance procedures and ensure proper implementation.
  • Maintenance planning, execution and management for plant and mobile equipment.
  • Ensuring and managing optimum stock levels for spares at the Engineering stores.
  • Design and implement Technical projects for saving energy, maintenance costs and improvement of plant and machine operation.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements for all statutory equipment on site.
  • Establish safety procedures for execution of engineering works and projects on
  • standards of engineering and safety compliance.

  • Avail and ensure completion of preventive maintenance job cards, checklists, SOPs and SMPs.
  • Troubleshoot breakdowns for engineering equipment.
  • Evaluate equipment to ensure compliance with safety and environmental
  • regulations
  • Estimate maintenance costs for management
  • Implement WCM principles in the execution of the maintenance strategy.

Qualifications And Experience

  • First or Upper Second class BSc. Engineering (Mechanical Engineering/Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering degree)
  • ISO Systems development/Audit certification – added advantage
  • Lean Six sigma certification – added advantage
  • Age 25 Years or below
  • Previous production and process experience
  • Graduate Member-Zimbabwe Institute of Engineering
