We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed individual to join our Executive Management team for the position above

The incumbent will report to the Chief Finance Officer and will be responsible for high quality external and internal financial reporting and ensures consolidation of financial reports is prepared on a timely and accurate basis.

Duties And Responsibilities

Corporate Financial Reporting Management

  • Researches and resolves accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting legislative pronouncements to ensure International Financial Reporting Standards compliance.
  • Leads financial reporting projects, such as implementation of changes in accounting standards.
  • Provides leadership to the finance management team to ensure timely delivery of all financial statements.
  • Manages daily activities for Accounting, Fixed asset Accounting, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, and Tax accounting.
  • Reviews and guides financial reporting pack preparation for all business units.
  • Plans and organizes preparation and issuance of financial statements, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other reports as and when necessary.

Business Performance Reporting

  • Manages preparation and distribution of internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality, reliability and accuracy.
  • Manages corporate financial reporting processes, preparation of consolidated financial statements and quarterly reports to the board and other stakeholders.
  • Develops and maintains integrity of financial reporting process and financial controls.
  • Maintains and strengthens internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Monitors, evaluates finance projects and provides feedback to the Executive Management.

Financial Statement & Ad-Hoc Reporting

  • Initiates development of monthly and quarterly Leadership reporting package, Board financial reports, and other financial presentations for review by the Chief Finance Officer.
  • Provides support to the Chief Finance Officer for TelOne’s annual audit and coordinate in the preparation of other required financial reports.
  • Performs analysis of TelOne’s operational activities, including historical, current, and projected revenue and expense, cash flow, variances, and key financial data, including indirect cost and fringe benefit rates as well as the efficiency ratio.
  • Produces enhanced standard financial statements and other agency reporting in support of TelOne budgets.

Corporate Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Facilitates accurate and timely collection of forecasting data in support of resource allocation decisions and budget planning.
  • Leads TelOne’s financial budget and forecasts processes and maintains off-cycle budget amendments as and when necessary.

  • Develops and maintains a sound system for tracking mid-year budget adjustments and impact on organizational approved changes.
  • Creates, maintains, and enhances Financial Planning models on (budget, forecast, and analysis including “what if” scenario analysis).

Development and Maintenance of Accounting Policies

  • Assists in developing and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Leads financial reporting projects, such as implementation of changes in accounting standards.
  • Reviews Company’s accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Coordinates, develops and updates written policies and procedures for the financial reporting process.

Performance Management

  • Implements performance management for the department in line with TelOne corporate goals.
  • Cascades performance objectives to all subordinates and review performance to meet key business objectives of revenue generation, revenue collection, profitability and customer satisfaction as and when necessary.

People Management

  • Implements all aspects of HR functions within the department with respect to recruitment needs, training, review, personal development, performance monitoring and team building.
  • Takes responsibility for absence, disciplinary and grievance policies for the Department.
  • Undertakes all people management related activities in accordance with the TelOne’s Standards.

Qualifications And Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business Management.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or ACCA or Articles of Clerkship with a minimum of CTA
  • MBA / MBL is an added advantage.
  • 5 years’ experience at Management Level.
