ICT Business Liaison Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Explain the business to ICT personnel -The primary responsibility of the ICT Business
  • Liaison is to represent the needs of the University’s business process owners to technical planning groups in ICT , and, likewise, to represent the needs of ICT to the business customers.
  • Explain ICT to business users -The ICT Business Liaison also represents the needs of ICT to the business user community, helping non-technical personnel to understand

  • Experience in server virtualisation (VMware).
  • The ability to operate Systems – Linux and Unix.

ICT Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning and overseeing implementation of the overall ICT direction of the Libraries
  • Assisting management in formulating technology policy that enhances the implementation of the University Library Agenda.
  • Translating policy into technical specifications based on user requirements.
  • Responsible for the security and integrity of the Library Information System Database, Applications software and Library network services
  • Training of I.T. staff and Librarians to ensure that they are familiar with the latest appropriate technology and the use of the computer equipment used in the Library.

Assistant Director, Academic And Administrative Services

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will report to the Director, ICT Services and will perform among other duties the following:

  • Lead the ICT services department in the absence of the Director ICT.
  • Direct and supervise the ICT professionals in the Academic and Administration division.
  • Manage IT functions and systems operations as well as delivering IT services.
  • Ensure systems operate optimally to provide maximum performance and availability to users and students.
  • Provide leadership, advice senior management on the ICT services.
  • Develop and maintain ICT systems, infrastructure and networks.
  • Design appropriate ICT architecture, placing quality assurance systems, risk plans, disaster recovery procedures and business continuity plans.

Architect, ICT Security

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be able to:

  • Train various Architects, design, implement, maintain and operate information system security controls and countermeasures.
  • Analyse and recommend security control and procedures in acquisition, development, the change management lifecycle of information systems and monitors for compliance.
  • Ensure systems security by:
  1. Making sure that all servers and endpoints have up to date endpoint security protection installed. Installing and pushing updates antivirus solution on servers and endpoints.
  2. Monitor the endpoint security server for any threats and isolating any infected machines from the network.
  3. Ensure that only approved users and devices connect onto the network.
  • Monitor information systems for security incidents and vulnerabilities, develop monitoring and visibility capabilities, reports on incidents vulnerabilities and trends.
  • Analyse and develop information security governance, including organisational
  • policies, procedures, standards, baselines and guidelines with respect to information security and use of operation of information systems.
  • Develop and administer, provide advice, evaluation and oversight for information security training and awareness programs.

  • Representing the unit in top level meetings.
  • Preparing of annual unit work plan.
  • Developing tasks schedules for the unit.
  • Managing Campus computer network.
  • Ensuring stable and reliable Campus network services (for example access products, service networks and core network).
  • Maintaining Network ICT Security.
