Operations Officer

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Operations Officer that has arisen in our Institute.

Reporting to the Center Manager, the successful candidate among other duties will be responsible for the following:

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assists the Centre Manager in the day to day managing of a Hotel.
  • Maintains customer database.
  • Continuously assesses services and questionnaires to review customer satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

  • Ensures customer provision of high quality services throughout the hotel.
  • Ensures departmental consumables including amenities are ordered and properly accounted for.
  • Maintains accurate room status profile and ensures facilities are maintained to the highest standards.
  • Carries out periodic assessment of facilities and ensures that high standards of cleanliness, wellness and safety are maintained.
  • Supervises and trains of subordinates on implementation of standard operational procedures.
  • Ensures the front office is operating efficiently to the satisfaction of all customers.
  • Assists in preparation of annual budgets and presentation of periodical reports.
  • Upholds Hotel’s commitment to hospitality and implement strategies of maintaining service brands.

Qualifications And Experience

  • 5 “O” Levels including Maths and English.
  • BSc Honours Degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.

Sports Instructor

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Sports Instructor that has arisen in our Institute.

Reporting to the Human Resources Officer, the successful candidate among other duties will be responsible for the following:

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversees the running of a state of the art gymnasium.
  • Monitors exercising customers and provides fitness assessment and feedback.
  • Offers personal training and fitness education according to customer’s health needs.
  • Provides personal training and prescribes workout programs for customers.
  • Develops workout and health promotion programs according to professional fitness standards.
  • Addresses customer complaints and questions promptly and professionally.
  • Reports hazards and unsafe practices to management.
  • Maintains the fitness center clean, safe and organized.

  • Ensures that fitness equipment and tools are maintained in safe and good working
  • conditions.
  • Instructs correct fitness methods and lifting techniques to minimize injury.
  • Conducts individual and group fitness classes to meet the physical abilities and interest of customers.
  • Adheres to operating procedures and regulations of a fitness facility.
  • Liaises with national sports fraternities.

Qualifications And Experience

  • 5 “O” Levels including Maths and English
  • At least a National Diploma in Sports Science or equivalent
  • A Degree in Sports Science or equivalent will be an added advantage
  • Certification in fitness training from any accredited Professional Board such as ACE or HFPA a must.
  • At least three years’ relevant experience

  • Ability to instruct and motivate people
  • Ability to train wellness courses and other sports such as volley ball, soccer etc

Handyman

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Handyman that has arisen in our Institute.

Reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager, the successful candidate among other duties will be responsible for the following:-

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Attends to all reported maintenance faults
  • Maintains adequate stocks of maintenance consumables
  • Reports ZESA and ZINWA faults as soon as possible
  • Reports acts of vandalism to management and security
  • Maintains sewer ponds
  • Ensures that gullies and drains are free from debris
  • Repairs and maintains all electrical, plumbing, mechanical and carpentry installations of the Institute and staff residences
  • Troubleshoots general maintenance problems
  • Prepares annual preventive maintenance plan for all facilities
  • General maintenance of the Institute
  • Supervises subordinates

Qualifications And Experience

  • 5 “O” Levels including Maths and English
  • Class 4 Driver’s license
  • National Certificate /National Diploma in Electrical Engineering
  • A Skilled Worker Class One Trade Certificate
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position

  • All -rounder able to carry out general maintenance work
  • Must be able to work independently and keep clear and accurate records
