Director, Macro-economic Statistics

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Providing technical and administrative oversight of the Macro-Economic Division;
  • Plan and provide guidance and supervision to the development of macro-economic statistics, as well as the Division’s methodological and research work, and lead relevant in the production of reports, surveys and publications;
  • Production of macroeconomics statistics intel to national accounts statistics, labour statistics, prices statistics, balance of payments and finance statistics;


  • Establish, develop and maintain strategic partnerships with external data providers and users from all sectors; Prepare annual program of work, objectives and priorities, budget documents and direct the Division’s activities,
  • Advocacy for statistics and assessing methodology to satisfy user demands;
  • Develop Of improve calculation methodologies of indicators in accordance with international standards;
  • Ensure the quality of produced economic statistics adhere to international best practices; and Ensure the implementation of relevant Acts, Procedures and regulations


Qualifications And Experience

  • A Master’s degree in Economics or equivalent with a quantitative bias is a most At least 10 years of relevant post qualification experience of which five (5) years should have been at managerial level
  • Thorough knowledge of the main economic data sources, and ability to source data and tell a story with the data Experience of utilising quantitative (economic, econometric, statistical) techniques
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Knowledge of international best practices in censuses and surveys
  • Proven ability to creatively respond to problems and to mobilize other actors to respond where necessary;
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills, and ability to work effectively with internal, external partners in a multicultural environment;
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentational skills; and Strong computer skills.


The job holders will be charged with the responsibility of driving and the general maintenance of the vehicles at assigned province.

Stations:  x1 Midlands, x1 Bulawayo, x1 Matabeleland South, x1 Matabeleland North

Reporting To: Provincial Administration Officer

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Offering driving services as assigned.
  • Collection and delivery of items.
  •  Maintenance of vehicles.

Qualifications And Experience

  • 5 O levels including Mathematics and English
  • Clean Class 4 Driver’s license.
  • Government Authority.
  • Valid Defensive Driving Certificate.

National Accounts And Analysis Manager

Job Summary

The job holders will be charged with the responsibility of managing, coordinating and production of a wide range of high quality statistics through surveys.

Reporting To: Director-macroeconomics

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Produce Annual Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Quarterly Gross Domestic Product and Annual Provincial Gross Domestic Product using the output approach, Expenditure approach and Income Approaches at current and constant prices.
  • Produce Supply and Use Tables, Social Accounting Matrices (SAM), Tourism Satellite Accounts (TSA), National Health Accounts, environmental Statistics and input and output tables.
  • Coordinate Poverty Income Consumption and Expenditure Surveys and Rapid PICES Monitoring Surveys.
  • Provide inputs into Macroeconomic Framework Group model
  • Determine appropriate methodology and dissemination methods for each specific statistical system.
  • The incumbent should be able to undertake capacity building activities for statisticians.
  • Represent the department at local, regional and international meetings.
  • Provide Statistics to users.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Economics.
  • Degree in Economics
  • Experience working in trade, poverty, prices, finance, national accounts and economic analysis disciplines
  • At least 5 years relevant experience


  • Must be a good team leader.
  • Excellent presentation of facilitation skills
