Field Officer

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and lead the centralized production and marketing of tobacco and other crops.
  • Implement and monitor day to day activities in liaison with project stakeholders i.e., implementing plans and schedules for planting, crop management, harvesting and crop marketing.
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of inputs are securely stocked and effectively managed i.e., seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, fuel and other supplies.
  • Initiate the budgeting process and manage the approved budget within allocated resources.
  • Keep proper financial records for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Oversee all operations and asset use, maintenance, and safe keeping.
  • Maintain an asset register for all of the company assets.
  • Produce weekly and monthly activity reports.

Qualifications And Experience

  • A diploma in Agriculture.
  • Certificate in tobacco training is an added advantage.
  • 2-3 years’ relevant working experience

Other Requirements/competencies

  • Clean class 3 drivers licence is a must.

Management Cost Accounting Officer

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist in the-production of the monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet supporting schedules
  • Prepare monthly expenses analysis schedules.
  • Prepare monthly cash flows and forecasts.
  • Prepare costing information for use a business cases, projects and new developments and adhoc requests to support managerial decision making.
  • Ensure that assets are correctly classified and updated on a monthly basis.
  • Record accurately, additions and disposals in the asset register.
  • Follow up on overdue customer accounts and implement company collections procedures as necessary.
  • Prepare weekly debtors schedule and monthly stop order deduction summary

Qualifications And Experience

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3-5 years relevant experience

Sustainability Assistant

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Sustainability Officer, develop action plans to respond to the salient sustainability and human rights issues affecting the tobacco industry.
  • Support the Sustainability Officer with the development of tools, metrics, and indicators for measuring and reporting progress on the commitments and sustainability goals.
  • Oversee the delivery against the common agenda and action plans, including awareness raising, training delivery and capacity building of farmers and field staff on all salient sustainability and human nights issues; design and deliver the training whenever relevant and necessary.
  • Assist in compilation of Sustainability programs reports including reporting on STP program status.
  • Establish linkages and help integrate the industry standards reporting with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Assist the Sustainability Officer with the organisation, administration of industry meetings, deliberations on issues related to sustainability and human rights.
  • Attend to any prioritised sustainability topics, initiatives, and programs.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Relevant University Degree in Agricultural Sciences/Social Sciences/Sustainability/Human Rights.
  • 3 years relevant working experience, tobacco or agri-commodity experience is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with private sector.
  • A good understanding of agricultural supply chains.
  • Experience with social (human and labour rights) and/or environmental sustainability in tobacco supply chain is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in project implementation, monitoring and evaluation of results.

Other Requirements/ Competences

  • High analytical, planning and project management skills.
  • Highly organs., diligent and able to plan and prioritise work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, familiarity with data software.
