Liverpool Legend  Bruce Grobbelaar Turns Down BBC

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar is likely to elude Strictly Come Dancing producers after declining an invitation to participate in the contest later this year.

BBC producers approached the 64-year-old last month in an attempt to secure his participation in this year’s show.

However, MailOnline can tell that the Zimbabwean, famed for his spaghetti legs goal-line technique, has turned down the offer after admitting to friends that he’d miss watching football on weekends.

A source said :

Strictly bosses are gutted because he was at the top of their list.

But when Bruce looked at what would happen to his weekends he was worried about not being able to watch his beloved Liverpool FC.

He also has a job at the stadium on match days hosting fans which he would have to give up to take part in the show.

The source added: It might be something he’d look at doing in the future but for the moment he’s not going to be signing up.

The only thing that might change his mind is a big money package. But there is a limit to how much the BBC can go to.

He was held in custody until July 20. Manyuka stabbed the now-deceased Hazvinei Chareka, 31, on the collar bone with a knife on July 1 this year, according to prosecutor Olivia Mukaro.

She had not given her approval for his relationship with her 14-year-old daughter.
