Owner charged with culpable homicide after girl (age 6) is mauled by dogs.

The two Boer dogs owned by a Goromonzi man have been accused of contributing to the death of a six-year-old child.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) released a statement on its social media page claiming that the girl was killed by two dogs owned by Justice Nyamutsamba (40) when she was playing with her friends.

Police said they have since killed the dogs and arrested the owner. ZRP said:

The ZRP reports a sad incident in which a six-year-old girl was mauled to death by two vicious Boer dogs whilst playing with friends on 13/10/22 at Dongo Village, Goromonzi.

The Police have since shot dead the dogs and the owner, Justice Nyamutsamba (40) is being charged with culpable homicide. Investigations are underway.

Zimbabwe Republic Police

In an unrelated case, police in Chiredzi on Tuesday arrested Serudzai Magadzire (45) in connection with a case of murder which occurred on Monday at Village 3, Wasara Range, Chiredzi.

Police said Magadzire and his accomplice, Kenias Magadzire (21) who is still at large, fatally assaulted Benson Chikati (83).

The duo allegedly accused Chikati of witchcraft before attacking him with catapults and wooden sticks.

The victim passed away while waiting to be taken to the hospital.
