Passport Offices To Open On Saturdays To Cater For People Applying for the E-Passports

The Civil Registry Department has announced that its Harare passport office would be open on Saturdays to accommodate customers who are applying for the new electronic passport (e-passport).

The Department stated that the operational hours will be between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. in a statement.

The Civil Registry Department wishes to inform its valued clients and stakeholders that the Harare Passport Office will now be operating on Saturdays to serve all e-passport applicants. The operating hours will be between 8:00 a.m. and 1500 p.m.

The window has been opened just for the convenience of people applying for an e-passport, not for any other national papers, which will normally be provided during normal business hours on weekdays.

We hope that these extended operation hours will greatly promote efficient e-passport services in response to the strong demand for the e-passport as the department continues to create measures to improve service delivery.

As a result, the department encourages citizens to apply for passports during the department’s extended hours of operation.

For the benefit of all people, the department maintains its commitment to improve service delivery through the issuing of crucial registration and travel papers.
