The ZRP has warned the public to park their unregistered and plateless vehicles in order to avoid their motor vehicles being impounded.
The ZRP launched an operation targeting plateless and unregistered vehicles. The ZRP resorted to these measures in order to curb rising crimes which were now being undertaken using plateless vehicles. Such crimes included murder and rape amongst others.
The statement issued by Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi reads :
The ZRP also urged the public to change ownership within 14 days on vehicles purchased locally as failure to do so is a criminal offence.
The ZRP also urged the public to report vehicles roaming without number plates to the nearest police stations.
